“The Lost Quays” are an 11 voice male choir dedicated to singing shanties and other songs of the sea. A sea shanty (or “chantey”) was traditionally sung by sailors while labouring together aboard sailing ships. These songs are rhythmic and energetic, but are simple and easy to learn, making them ideal for audience participation. They can reveal interesting insights into seafaring history. While many of our songs are traditional, we also embrace more contemporary folk songs where appropriate. Our repertoire is presented with gusto, good humour, and occasional mischief!
Voices in Sync, are an Acapella singing group
Rhythmos is Curtin University's award-winning a cappella choir. With the Greek ethos of symmetry, form and beauty instilled in our name, we are a committed group of singers with strong reliable voices, and a passion for music. Join us as we embark on a journey across the world and throughout time, bringing you a diverse collection of a cappella choral music.
A Cappella West is a National Champion Sweet Adeline chorus who recently represented Australia in Las Vegas. A fabulous experience for us all. We sing barbershop arrangements of a variety of songs but we are so much more than that. Our repertoire crosses many vocal boundaries and we love to sing and entertain our audiences. Be prepared for wonderful vocal arrangements and choreography that will impress and delight.
Bernard Carney is a singer, songwriter, entertainer, storyteller, choir director and Beatlemaniac with a distinctive ragtime guitar style.
Black Chook Chutney are a community group that get together most weeks to play instrumental folk tunes from all over: the villages of Europe, Scandanavia, French Canadian, and England are particular favourites at the moment, although we have concentrated on French, Italian, and South American, for particular gigs. Chooks play a range of instruments: Accordians, boxes, concertina, violins, hammer dulcimer, mandolins, Ukes, recorder, flute, cello, bass guitar, mandolins and guitars, and Black Chook Chutney are a Community development initiative of Zig Zag Community Arts.
Men of the West, Led by director, Ryan Morrison, have been refining their subtle theatre of pointless grandeur over the past decade, being regulars at the Fairbridge Festival and the Dunsborough Songfest. They picked up a Highly Commended Award at the Adelaide Fringe in 2014, and had successful seasons at Perth Fringe World 2016 & 2017. The Men will deliver a variety of a capella songs ranging from the haunting beauty of ancient Georgian harmonies to original songs of the quotidian rituals and trials of being a man in today’s world. 'gentle and sad, even sweet, but also powerful and unmistakeably male'.
The Ballpoint Penguins are three smart musical comics. Join them in a resonant historic building to explore timeless concerns that have troubled Western Australians for over 150 years--such as what to put in a Christmas trifle, how to come up with names for new highways and what to do with all those disgusting jellyfish that turned up in the river. Good laughs and great harmonies.
One Achord is a SATB choir, that sings a wide variety of styles. Their musical director, Gillian Parker, encourages choir members to develop their voices with a range of well focussed techniques. The choir performs at local events such as the Heart Foundation annual Memorial Service, and the Booragoon RSL annual Anzac Day Service. One Achord has been involved in Voicemoves Bashes, The Denmark Festival of Voice, and The Dunsborough songfest, as well as holding a Concert of their reportoire at the end of each year where they raise money for different charities.
For 10 years, the music of a cappella voices has burst forward from Close Harmony Choir. The group has sustained a long romance with the unaccompanied group singing so popular in folk traditions around the world. And if singing together is an ancient art, it is also modern medicine. We invite you to come join us in a concert of song and wisdom

The Born to Sing Choirs rehearse in Joondalup, Rockingham, Kalamunda and Melville. The choirs welcome all non-singers, shower singers, park singers, car singers, air guitar singers and actual singers. The choirs are a community that sing songs from the heart which make you feel good, raise self-esteem and help you lose the blues. Most recently, Born To Sing performed 6 sell-out shows in the Perth 2017 Fringe Festival.
From their base near Fremantle, which is so secret that many cant find it on rehearsal night, Voicemale attack the musical spectrum in such a forceful way that it may never fully recover. Living proof that louder is better, they are also famous for mixing it with dance troupes and other exotic creatures. Under herdsman Digby Hill, the all-singing, all-dancing men are ready to invade Guildford, if they can find it. You will hear them first.
"The Real Sing is an auditioned ‘a capella’ choir, with 7 singers in each Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass sections. As our One Liner says: “serious singers who do it for fun”. Members of The Real Sing just love to sing, and sing well. We have an extensive repertoire, and under the direction of Coralie Kan, our Musical Director, we are continually introducing new songs to the repertoire, with a focus on songs that enhance our musical capabilities, but at the same time having fun and enjoying our music.
